Weybridge, Surrey Jankel, a world leader in armoured vehicle manufacturing and survivability solutions, is proud of the Allied Forces Foundation who flew to Washington DC to take part in the 42nd Marine Corps Marathon which took place on Sunday 22 October 2017. Inspired by a post-Vietnam era memo, "The People's Marathon" has hosted inspired and motivated individuals for over four decades. It is with great pleasure to confirm that all the DMG(SE) team members completed the 26.2 miles marathon with a special mention to Rfn (Ret'd) Justin Davies, who was placed 2nd overall in the hand bike race. The visit also included an academic development that gives insight into the historic and current UK/US strategic relationship, including a visit to the FBI, Capitol Building, the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery.  “Jankel is proud of the opportunity to support elements of the British Army with DMG (SE) being represented at a high profile, physically challenging and diplomatic international event.” Erin Grieve Jankel’s Divisional Sales Lead commented. Primarily this event gave our WII personnel something positive to aim for and an opportunity to share this experience with other foreign service WII. “We arrived back from Washington DC on a high. The event was brilliant and the whole team did really well, in particular our hand cyclist who came 2nd! On behalf of the team, we would like to thank Jankel for the generous contribution.” Joanne Christy 2Lt J S Christy, Nursing Officer, DMG SE.
